B and W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we'll be showing you how to install the B&W Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch with slider base here on our 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty. If you own a newer Ford truck and you have the Ford towing prep package in it and you're wanting a 5th wheel hitch that can give you a little bit more turning clearance because you have a shorter bed and just can't make those tight turns like you could if you had an eight foot bed. Then the B&W Companion with slider base is going to be the hitch for you. With this slider base, it has feet designed to drop straight into the puck system that comes with your Ford towing prep package. The handles are super easy to use, simply just pull them out to unlock your hitch or, once you have your hitch dropped in, just pull 'em in towards the base and then lock 'em up with your pin and clip. This makes installation and removal for an empty bed to tow any other items, maybe you're moving some furniture, maybe you just wanna load this up with some other gear and don't want to have that hitch in the way, just makes it super easy to get it outta here. more

We are using B&W's base rail kit but you can use another manufacturer's base rail kit and still use this fifth wheel hitch. Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2020 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hi there, GMC owners. Today on your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, Curt's A16 Sliding 5th Wheel Head. This is a sliding fifth-wheel assembly which is great for vehicles that have a short truck bed. If you've got a full truck bed then you really don't need to worry about these and you probably won't need one ever. But if you have a short truck bed, the clearance between your trailer and the cab of your truck may be too small when making extreme turns. It's not uncommon for a fifth wheel that's sitting in this position here on our 90-degree turn, for that cab and trailer to connect here on the corners. more

Well, say, compared to the other manufacturers, the machining and fit of theirs just seems to slide together way better than the others. The only thing that I found here with B&W on occasion is they go a little thick on the powder coating, which can sometimes make it a little difficult to install. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the B and W Companion fifth wheel to gooseneck receiver here. Now this is gonna go onto your Band W under bed mount kit for your gooseneck. Now this is gonna be on a 2019 Ford F250. So let's go through, take a look at it and see the install portion, and this is a great option because it's pretty easy to put in place. So if you're going from your goose neck to a fifth wheel with an extra set of hands or two, you can get this loaded in place and ready to rock in less than 10 minutes. Now as far as the weight capacities go, the gross trailer weight rating is gonna be 20,000 pounds which is gonna be the weight of the trailer that you're pulling plus whatever's loaded onto there. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2017 GMC Sierra 2500, we're going to be checking out the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel. So, right off the bat, you may be wondering what's different about this 5th wheel hitch than a lot of the other ones And what it does differently is right in the name: Autoslide. So, what happens is, when you're hooked up to your trailer and you make a tight turn, or anything like that, what's going to happen as the head is going to automatically slide back and give you quite a bit of extra clearance. You do have to do a little bit of pre-assembly, to attach the parts, once you get them from the box, but once it's assembled, you can either do it in the truck bed which we're gonna be showing you how to do, Cause it's easier to do, if you're doing it all by yourself, or if you've got a friend there to help you, you can assemble it out of the truck. What you'll want to do to remove and insert your fifth wheel hitch, for the whole assembly. more

So here's what our fifth wheel hitch is going to look like when we have it installed in the truck bed. It's going to be specific to models that have the OEM fifth wheel prep package, which is going to be the four outlier pucks and then the center gooseneck hitch ball opening.This particular hitch here is going to fit directly into those pucks without any additional adapters needed. So we're not going to have to worry about extra parts or lifting extra items. It's going to fit flush onto the pucks here. more

Here's how our 5th Wheel Hitch is going to look like installed in our truck bed. Now, keep in mind, there are a few different versions of this hitch. We have the slider version as well as the 20K fixed version and the 25K fixed version.These are all three going to be designed for models with the factory prep package. The factory prep package is going to consist of four packs that are pre-installed in the truck bed from the factory, as well as a sinner Gooseneck opening.Now, the factory prep package allows us to have a drop-in installation for our 5th Wheel Hitch, meaning we're not going to have to worry about having any bulky rails in our bed, taking up space and causing a hassle, getting items in and out. more
